Cause

The Angel Foundation for Learning is a charitable organization (BN/Registration #108075946RR0002) that serves the needs of more than 90,000 students in the City of Toronto. Through the generosity and compassion of corporate sponsors and individual donors, we provide in school nutrition programs, as well as emergency funds to help children and families who are experiencing financial hardships.

Families are struggling more than ever due to soaring costs for food, accommodations and other basic essentials, and the need for assistance continues to escalate. In addition to providing funding for in school student nutrition programs, as well as providing grocery cards for families in need, we also distribute thousands of dollars each year to students and families across the City of Toronto to assist with things such as school apparel, eyeglasses, epi-pens and hearing aids, vouchers to offset the cost of application to college or university, in addition to offering a number of bursaries. A special fund is also designated specifically to help newcomers, and in recent months, we have provided financial assistance to many students and families fleeing the conflict in Ukraine.

Some funds are also earmarked to ensure that all students are able to participate in all school-related opportunities. For families who find the cost of camp programs and school excursions cost-prohibitive, AFL offers some subsidies to ensure that no student is left behind.

All proceeds from the 50-50 raffle will be used to support students and families in Toronto.
